Define what a transceiver test must prove

A module can link up without proving that the complete channel meets your acceptance requirements. Agree the test conditions before requesting a sample report. The checks below are an acceptance-planning checklist, not a statement that every catalog module has been tested by PhotonVerge.

Identify the test setup

Record both endpoints, firmware, port speed, lane mode, FEC, fiber type, connector and test duration. Include module serial numbers and document revision so a later result can be reproduced.

Separate readings from acceptance

DOM/DDM readings describe module telemetry; they do not by themselves establish BER or interoperability. Define the counters, thresholds, observation interval and thermal conditions required by the actual platform.

Keep exceptions visible

Record corrected and uncorrectable errors, link flaps, temperatures and any unsupported settings. A passing sample result should not be extended to another host, batch or firmware without review.

Your next step

For procurement review, request the setup, measured result, pass/fail criterion and reviewer together. Where evidence is missing, keep the sample conditional instead of calling the model universally compatible.
