Make a compatibility report specific enough to approve
A useful compatibility report identifies the configuration being evaluated, the evidence available and the conditions that remain unverified. It should distinguish a coding target from a tested host-module combination; matching a part-number alias is not proof that a link will operate.
Record both endpoints
Name the switch or adapter, firmware, port and peer optic. Include lane mapping, FEC and any breakout settings that change the channel.
Attach the evidence
Identify datasheet revisions, test logs and sample serial numbers. State whether findings are vendor documentation, measured results or assumptions awaiting validation.
Control later changes
Keep the report revision with the quoted SKU. Changes in firmware, optical scheme, module revision or cabling may require another review rather than reusing an old approval.

Send the exact configuration and the acceptance question. The output should identify confirmed conditions and open items, not a universal compatibility badge. Do not rely on an unsigned summary as a substitute for your own acceptance process.
