Resolve BOM differences before they become order errors
BOM review is most useful when the requested line and the proposed supply line remain visible together. It should expose differences rather than silently normalize a manufacturer suffix, cable length or package. Keep commercial substitutions separate from technical equivalence claims.
Preserve requested identifiers
Retain the original line number and full P/N. A near match can have a different thermal top, interface or supported platform.
List changes explicitly
Record the proposed SKU, quantity and any changes to connector, length, reach, coding, label or packing. Mark each change as requiring approval where appropriate.
Close the open questions
Agree genuine-only rules, allowed alternatives, destination and delivery schedule. Quote unconfirmed lines conditionally instead of treating them as accepted equivalents.
