Compared to traditional PSM4, CWDM4 adopts CWDM technology to enable medium-range transmission within 2km using only one pair of single-mode fibers, greatly reducing optical cabling costs. In contrast to LR4, CWDM4 has lower price and solution cost, effectively filling the gap created by LR4’s high price for distances under 2 km, providing perfect balance of performance and affordability between SR4 and LR4.
